Shipbuilding
LD Ports & Logistics can evaluate risk of congestion and demurrage at the terminal simulating ocean-going vessels arrivals and integrating the laycan schedule and the shipping plan.
Construction
LD Ports & Logistics used to fully own a shipyard exclusively dedicated to build logistics and transhipment assets to serve the company needs for different types of commodities. LDPL has thus an extensive experience in shipbuilding and has forged strong strategic alliances with the world’s leading industry partners and shipyards.
LDPL relies on its deep knowledge in shipbuilding to construct the desired type of vessels, complying with the highest international standards.
LDPL today has the superior technical and economic attributes to offer ship owners the technical solutions to their marine project requirements and to effectively negotiate and manage shipbuilding contracts.
Shipyards selection
For each project, LDPL selects shipyards according to their qualification, reputation, financial strength and ability to ensure that good standards, coat effectiveness and timely completion are attained. The location of the shipyard is also essential to limit mobilisation cost.
One or several different shipyards may be selected depending on their domain of expertise, availability and time needed for the construction of each unit. The order may be divided between transshipment vessels and more standard vessels such as tugs and barges.
Supervising the construction
LDPL disposes of a very active shipbuilding department composed of experienced multi-disciplinary teams of naval architects, engineers and technicians. These experienced teams have been responsible for supervising many successful constructions of diversified fleet of bulk carriers, seismic vessels, RoRo and Ropax vessels, cable laying and repair vessels, transhipment vessels and self-propelled barges for more than a century.
LDPL has a dedicated and mobilized team with vast knowledge and expertise for the preliminary technical preparation and the construction process to monitor productions, lead tests and sea trials.
